Howdy,
Per the epitome fastened, my Frigidaire Gallery French Door refrigerator has a large rust area on the back with rusty water stains down the dorsum and onto the floor. It is not a water leak, it appears to be condensation forming on a cold spot on the back and which is creating the rust. Afterwards cleaning with a wire brush, there are holes in the metal dorsum panel.
I am not having issues with the unit except for this concern, any ideas on what I tin can practice to stop the mess information technology is creating and if I should be concerned with the unit failing in the nearly hereafter?
Thanks for your replies...

Hi,
Can't see inside the walls....only either void of insulation in that expanse ( my gauge ) or possible one of the refrigeration lines conveying the cold refrigerant gas from the freezer down to the compressor was installed too close to the back outside wall.
Send the picture to Frigidaire/Electrolux and see what they take to say.
any ideas on what I can do to stop the mess it is creating
Rust paint, spray foam insulation.
and if I should be concerned with the unit failing in the near future?
Unknown if this will e'er effect the operations.

Insulation pad
I've seen this consequence quite a number of times. I practice warranty work for Frigidaire and they transport us a kit that consists of a sheet of armacell insulation, clear caulk, and a flex tray gasket kit. There'southward instructions included in this kit but basically put insulation on the rear panel, deice drain line for water ice maker and replace gasketing. We practice them quite oftentimes and is comprehend outside of manufacturers warranty. Have to have an approved vendor call and they'll ship the parts and pay for the labor.

My Frigidaire FPHC2399KF2 professional person has this rust spot on the dorsum. 6 yr old unit of measurement. I had Warners Stellian Apparatus repair out. They called Frigidaire and Frigidaire said that the "heat exchanger needs to be run outside of the cabinet, replace compressor, filter-dryer, and evaporator. Warners Stellian said I should call Frigidaire for concessions. I called. 1 hr later, ii supervisors afterward. I asked several times if they have always heard of this problem. They said no. I said "Google it" and images come up up. Finally, I mentioned what a previous poster said near armacell insulation and he said oh, what yous demand is the "Sweat Kit". I asked why that wasn't offered. He said I never mentioned information technology was sweating. I said I told you several times that on the dorsum, at that place'due south a pocket-sized cold spot where moisture forms. It's rusting in that location and dripping. The rest of the dorsum is clean and dry. What the heck....
Will this "Sweat kit" work and is it the right affair?

I figured you'd ask! I asked him and he said once the Warner'south Stellian Technician chosen the Frigidaire Tech Support Line and mentioned the symptoms of "sweating" leading to rust, the Frigidaire Tech Support line would tell the Warner's Stellian Technician that the Sweat Kit volition be shipped and a parts and labor concession number would be provided and so this would be washed at no toll to the customer (me). He said he didn't have the part number. He seemed deceptive the whole time - never heard of this problem, information technology's out of warranty. When I mentioned armacell insulation, his tone changed. Very frustrating as a consumer.

WOW!! I just looked up the panel repair kit from different suppliers. Information technology ranges anywhere from $780 to $1025.00 depending where y'all buy.
They do that and so simply an authorized repair depot would go one.....no DIYer or ABC repair visitor would order 1 at that price.
